Kaelan's first Strawberry Rhubarb pie. Holy deliciousness.
I never had rhubarb before, and Kaelan always talked about how he use to eat them back in Indiana.
We have tried finding fresh rhubarb out here but haven't had the best of luck of finding any or any fresh ones. I finally came across some at a local farmer's market store and picked up some fresh strawberries also. The taste is very tangy, so it can surprise you on your first bite but you get used to it eventually. The crust is homemade and it was so buttery and flakey, one of the best pie crusts I've ever had.

Las Vegas Foodie Fest -

We've been to a food truck meet up before and we were not that impressed with it. This time we decide to go to this Las Vegas Foodie Fest because 1) there are over 30+ food trucks from all over the country 2) there's a beer/liquor served there 3) there's also a carnival there.

Well..... this is a three day event. We went on the second day around 2 pm. We had bought our tickets advance online, which was a joke. You pay $8.50 online and if you buy it at the door it's $10 and the cash line was way faster than our line.

They were promoting all over town and the White Castle burger was going to be there. We do not have a White Castle here in Las Vegas, or on the west coast I believe. So I really wanted to try it. I had saw on Friday people mention the wait at the White Castle line was at least 2 hours, I had changed my mind but still hoping it would be better on Saturday when we went. But no.... the wait was even worse on Saturday. I guess you can buy them 100 burgers at at time, but the truck only had 2 grills. So you can imagine why the wait is so long. We end up just going to the other trucks instead.

The event was poorly organized, they should've know how popular White Castle was going to be and maybe had more than 1 White Castle truck there. Or put a limit on how many burgers you can buy. Overall it was fun, but I don't think I will go again and pay $10 to get in and on top of that pay for all the food. It can get very expensive very quickly. But all and all, it was a fun experience.

Beef Brisket Burger with onion rings

And now the infamous White Castle burger. As you can see, the line wait is 4+ hours, and they even had 2 lines going. As we left this area, they just changed the wait time to 5 hours. Craziness!

What else can you get that's deep fried? Everything!

We think this is hands down the best sushi restaurant in Vegas.

Reasonably priced and the quality of the fish is super fresh. Lunch is $21.95 and dinner is $26.95 for all you can eat I believe. We have tried both lunch and dinner and the dinner selection is much better. They have a specials on the board in addition to their regular sushi menu and the menu on the placemat.

This place is small, probably only seats less than 40 people. We tried going there on a Friday night for dinner and the wait time is almost 2 hours and no they do not take reservation. Try avoid rush hours during Friday and Saturdays. We have had good luck on Sundays or go for an early dinner on weekdays where there's no wait at all.

Kaelan and I enjoy the nigiri sushi rather than the rolls. So I can only tell you about those.
Our favorite nigiri sushi are Super White Tuna, Garlic Tuna and Salmon Belly. The texture of the Super White Tuna is like butter, melts in your mouth. Another must have is the Grilled Pork Belly. It is topped with their mango salsa. It is to die for! But it's only available for all you can eat during dinner time.

Next time we go back for dinner, I think we will just get 20 orders of the Super White Tuna and Pork Belly lol, that's how good they are!

(L to R) Garlic Tuna, Super White Tuna,
and another kind of tuna from their special menu board, but I forgot the name.

Grilled Pork Belly

Spicy Tuna Rice Cracker - crispy sushi rice topped with spicy tuna drizzled with spicy yum and eel sauce.

(Top down) Super White Tuna, Salmon Belly, Smoke Salmon and Unagi / Eel

Desserts - Tempera Ice Cream, Chocolate Mousse, Mango Mousse, Red Bean Ice Cream and Mochi Ice Cream
